National Beta School of Merit
Redan Elementary School was recently awarded 2018 National Beta School of Merit status. Offering National Beta to eligible grades at our school, provides students with experiences in leadership development and service involvement which strengthen and build their futures. 
Summer Enrichment Activities

Principal's Advisory Committee

Parents and teachers who wish to serve on the Principal's Advisory Committee will need to complete the candidate declaration process and run in the Fall.  The forms can be found on our website:

3rd Grade

3rd grade agenda (purchased in front office)

8 packages of #2 pencils

small pencil pouch (no boxes)

2 boxes of 24 crayons 

pocket folders

2 glue sticks

1 package of pencil erasers

5 marble composition books

5 spiral notebooks (70 pages or more); replenish for 2nd semester 

4 hand sanitizer

2 boxes of tissues

1st Grade

6  composition notebooks (black & white)

1  pair of Fiskar scissors (blunt point) 

2  boxes of 24-count crayons (replenish often) 

4  glue sticks or 4 bottles liquid glue 

4  2-pocket folders (please do not write names on these) 

1  zip-top quart-size bags   

4  bottles of hand sanitizer 

2  packages of #2 pencils (replenish often) 

1  large book bag (prefer non-rolling type) 

2 disinfectant wipes & 1 disinfectant spray

1 large pencil box 


4th Grade

2 color folders of each color – Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, White, Orange

2 packs of dry erase markers

1 pack of graph paper & pens (red, black and blue)

2 five subject notebooks

5 composition notebooks

each: pack of erasers, pack of  glue sticks & pack of highlighters

1 pack of colored pencils 

each:  ruler, blunt edge scissors, pencil sharpener & flash drive

3 boxes of pencils 

3 packs of loose leaf notebook paper (replenish often)

1 large bottle of hand sanitizer

Family-School Compact for Achievement
A Family-School Compact for Achievement is an agreement that parents, students, and teachers collaboratively develop. It explains how the parent, students and teachers will work together collectively with student shared responsibility for improved student academic achievement to help all children achieve the state standards.
Tuskegee Airmen Field Trip
Dress Code
Students are expected to wear red, yellow, or white collared tops and khaki or blue bottoms. Additionally, Dekalb County School District has a student dress code that can be found on pages 75 and 76 of the Student Code of Conduct Handbook.
Parent Volunteer Training
Parents and guardians who wish to volunteer at our school are welcome to visit the school for training on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:30 and 11:30 AM. If you are interested, please contact our Title I Parent Liaison, Carolyn Anderson, Ed.S.
Additional training sessions are held 30 minutes prior to each PTA meeting.
